What are primitive reflexes?

Babies are born with primitive reflexes which develop in the womb and are essential to the birthing process, help the newborn take its first breath and support its early survival and development. As human babies are born before their brain and nervous systems have fully developed, they rely on these reflexes to instinctively enable them to perform certain tasks such as feeding, grasping and responding to danger.

All being well, the primitive reflexes should serve their purpose during the baby’s first year of life and should then integrate as the brain begins to mature and take over. However sometimes these primitive reflexes don’t integrate and go on to cause challenges with anxiety, learning, emotional difficulties, physical co-ordination issues, developmental delay and more.

RMT offers the brain a second chance to rewire and promotes positive change through gentle movements that children naturally make.

Each sessions is approx 1 hour long for nursery aged children and above. I work  with both the parent and child to find out possible root causes of the challenges they are facing. I will teach you some movements to do at home that take no more than 5-10minutes to do each day.
